Back to What He Does Best

There is an article by Ann Kornblut in the Washington Post this morning about Bill Clinton who is in Africa doing what he does best – charitable work that benefit many of the people there. He seems to be slowly recovering from his rather disastrous role in Hillary’s failed campaign.

I think Bill Clinton is probably one of the best politicians to come along in twenty-five years, but he surely damaged his persona and reputation during the contentious primaries. Ego in political candidates is a given – how else could you assume you are smart enough to handle the job of president of the most powerful country in the world? But what happens when you have to play second fiddle to your wife and the main spotlight is not on you but her and she’s losing? Not a pretty picture! He still seems to have difficulty talking about the primary season, but he did have an extended interview with reporters, the first since Hillary ended her campaign.

I hope he will get back to his charitable works, put that famous personality and smile to work in ways that produce the kind of positive things that he has done in the past for causes that have had a need for a champion.

I agree.

Bill Clinton may be the best president we ever had. At least he was smart enough to get the budget balanced and a huge reserve besides. What he did in his sex life should have been between him and Hillary. That segment of his life should be over now anyhow now that he is taking meds for his bypass surgery.

Bush will undoubtedly be voted the worst.
