A friend sent these to me some time ago and I did want to share them on Sky Watch, but I've had problems with the system and I'm certain it isn't the system, but me. So I decided to post them here instead.
The cloud formations, the colors, the sheer magnificence of what you are seeing make it difficult to recognize the incredible deadliness in these tornados. Coming from Texas I have seen many -- fortunately I was never in the middle of one and for that I'll always be grateful.
The deadliness of the tornado season preceding and following Katrina was horrific. And we've seen so many of these kinds of storms this year.
I almost feel as though these mirror the political storms that we are
experiencing except for the fact there is nothing beautiful about them.
I can only hope that we can weather
the political storms as we have
weathered Mother Nature's children.

Fantastic and beautiful to say the least. A wonderful capture. Yet very scary at the same time. Living in a location where they do not occur I would have been heading the oposite direction instead of taking photos.
You and me both! They were and are a lot braver than I am to be sure!
Wow, Sylvia, wow!!
These are great shots. I've never seen a tornado in person and hope I NEVER do. I'd much peer looking at your photos.
Happy Sky Watch Friday. ;-)
Amazing shots, almost surreal! Glad to hear you've beena storm observer but not ever in one!
Amazing photographs. I have never seen such a thing. Where I grew up, tornadoes were usually in the middle of thunderstorms, and it was too rainy to see them coming. Plus we lived in a very tree-covered, hilly area. I never imagined they looked so beautiful and powerful. EXCELLENT shots. Thank you for sharing these for SWF!
Those are very amazing shots, very awesome and scary. Thanks for sharing those with us.
wow great post
These are great photos. It would be quite scary to see that coming. Happy SWF.
I have never seen photos like these before. And although they carry so much potential destruction within, I am in awe of their appearance.
You got them posted! And they are spectacular pictures. Scenes of danger and disaster are so often also beautiful in their way.
I found a link to your blog this morning at Bobbie’s (of Almost There) … and have looked around a bit. I wish I had more time because you’ve shared much that speaks to my heart here … especially in ‘Time to Step Back – Again’ and hopefully I’ll find time to do that soon. For now, I want to say thanks for being out here in the ‘virtual world’ sharing your sanity. I intend to check out the link about John McCain in ‘Worth Watching’ and want to say thanks for sharing these incredible ‘tornado’ photos from 2005 … awesomely beautiful and frightening at the same time. I participate in Sky Watch on my Sacred Ruminations blog …
Hugs and blessings,
these are truly amazing photos. there doesn't seem to be anything as powerful as mother nature.
btw, I found you at the skywatch site.
The storm photos are phenomenal. Thank you so much for making them accessible to me; it is unlikely I would have thought to search for anything like this.
Holy Cow! Those are some amazing shots. Thank you for sharing. Those are unbelievable.
