My friend in Michigan calls the middle ground of voters the 'bubba vote' with a small 'b' and I think he's right, it's not just about the south anymore. What upsets me is the whole Republican "My Party right or wrong" attitude, but then I'm am a product of the 60s, an era that first challenged "My Country right or wrong." When things DO go wrong, you work the vote to change them. I still have my old McCarthy button! As for Palin, it took me a while to realize that by Joe Six-pack, she wasn't talking about guy with ripped abs. I guess I don't know much about Alaska...Deborah Godinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15175977572194074388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2881389390266605547.post-27658601678344088792008-10-11T21:24:00.000-07:002008-10-11T21:24:00.000-07:00Ah, Clariz, you brought the big smile tonight! I used to wonder who was down there in "the middle" when I flew over.

Now that I'm living in my accidental prairie home way out in the middle, I'm finding out who lives here and it's pretty scary to me. Oh, they're nice, friendly people all right, but many of them are a lot like those folks shouting out at the McCain/Palin rallies lately.

It's very hard to listen to political discussions here about how Obama is a Muslim, and how they would never vote for a black man, and how they don't really like McCain either but they will vote for him, bygawd, etc. etc. After one upsetting Tourette's-like incident on my part at my old ladies' knitting group, I've decided to pretty much stay at home until after the election. I like to believe that I'm a gentle soul, but I get so angry at the foolishness I hear. And that's not a good thing when you're armed with a handful of knitting needles.clairzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12076402619649343527noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2881389390266605547.post-79044547283851491132008-10-11T08:11:00.000-07:002008-10-11T08:11:00.000-07:00Wow!
